My lifetime shown as a timeline

Here you have my first English project of the year. It consists of doing a timeline where we must write the events of our life we found important. I think my life's most important events are all related to studying and travelling and hope some day I can add many events to this timeline.

This town rocks!

On the second term, we've worked on a task called "This town rocks!". It consisted of preparing a project of opening an HRC. We elaborated a dossier with the information needed: characteristics of the chosen city, reasons to justify the election, a budget, a menu, some documents and an acts and concerts' planning. Before holidays, we showed our work to a Board of Directors here, in the high school.











One of the documents was a letter asking for Memorabilia to famous musics and bands. We sent ours to Efecto Pasillo, A New Tomorrow,... and we finally got a T-shirt of Dark Night, a Spanish rock band.
This term, we have continued with the project: we have finished it, we have improved our dossier and made a presentation because on April 19th, we presented the task to a larger Board of Directors in HRC Marbella! We spent the morning there and we really had fun. The HRC is so cool and we had a little snack there: nachos! We had the opportunity to visit Puerto Banús and the Cañada, a mall.

Honouring MLK

Here is the presentation about Martin Luther King and the segregation on history that we've made to celebrate the progress in equality made by this man.
We've also worked this topic reading the biography of Rosa Parks and the Bus Boycott and a glossary of words related to non violence like agape, ahisma, conscientious objection , picketing or sit-ins. We've also chosen some songs to honour MLK. We've put them into a poll and the most voted has been "One Vision" by Queen and "Pride in the name of love" by U2 in 2nd place.  

Moving to Edmodo

We've moved to Edmodo, a platform similar to a twitter or tuenti but it has an educational aim so, we write there, we haven't dissapeared ;)

Scotland, here we go!

This is our Prezi, we'll use it to explain our trip to the audience but we've also created a document that has information about the places we will visit, the daily schedules, the budget, etc.

Laura's meeting

On friday 28th September, we met Jade's mother: Laura Sims.

We asked her questions about her life: were was she born, where have she worked,...

So here we go!

Laura was born in 1958 in Exeter, an old city of England where there is an important cathedral and many beautiful buildings. She left school when she was 16 ( but now she regrets of that decision). Later, when she was 33, she started studying at university to be a teacher.

She came to Spain when her daughter (and our classmate), Jade, was only 2, and live in Mallorca. After 2 years, they moved to Motril because she loves our weather, our food.. this place generally. She finds this very safety and it's cheaper than England.
She love animals and she has 6 dogs as pets! She loves to read, the gardens and sailing too. She learnt to sail when she was only 8.
Now, she works as a builder and as a teacher. Comparing with her highschool when she was young, she says that now is better cause girls can study physics, chemistry or maths instead of cook and sew.

The BCK is a community where we can show to the world what we can do and help other people to learn it, so we share our knowledge and try to make people a little better:)

The offsprings

It was a cold winter day in the forest. Animals got up and went for getting food. A deer was hidden from a puma and when it came out from it, a cowboy shot it with a double-barreled shotgun. It fell but only injured and it escaped. 

The cowboy persecuted it, when he saw that it had offsprings. He tried to heal the dear. He stayed with the deers for 13 days caring for them, protecting them from the wolves... He finally loved them.

He decided that the deer was already healthy and some hours after he leaved them, the cowboy heard some shots and he returned to look for the deers. Deers were dead, killed by an indian and his family. He felt rage but he only left the place

The little prince's world :3

Well, I can say and really, I must say that this book, that is recommended for children is wonderful. Instead of this recommendation, I'm sure that is good for adults read it because it's not the same depending of your age.

When I read it for first time, I was about 11 years old and for me, the book seems like a strange tale, really boring and simple. Now, that I've read it again, I think that it's a very beautiful and I find it so interesting. It has many things to  say to people, that show us the sad reflect of the time in our minds and souls. When we are young, we value things that when we grow, we find it so simple and not interesting at all. We loose our innocence and for me, it's so so sad.
The Little Prince's trip all over the universe show us all the lost valus  with examples such as the king, the fox,...
There are some quotes from the book:

·"What makes the desert beautiful," says the little prince, "is that somewhere it hides a well."

A PLE consists of the  websides, the apps and the material you use to improve your knowledge and learn more English.

My PLE is not large at all, so I can't do a great job showing it but it's real, that's what I use to improve my knowledge and do my virtual works.

A letter to introduce myself

I'm Elvira and I'm 15. I was born in Barcelona but I came to Motril when I was only 2 weeks old. I live with my parents and my little sister. Here, I' ve got many parterns but only a few real friends like Mase, Pola, Javier, Nerea or Carmen.

I have no favourite food but I can say that I like Italian food. Talking about music, I prefer rock and pop music but sometimes I listen to music that sounds in the disco, for example. I like playing the guitar and maybe going out with friends. I would like to practice karate too but at the moment, I can't. On the other hand, my favourite school subjects are maths, physics and chemistry and biology, but not geology.

In the future, I would like to work in some investigation projects and belong to some NPOs.
